Coming Soon: Culture Work newsletter
I’m finally doing it. I’m launching a newsletter.
I really dragged my feet on this one because I strongly believe there is too much content. Too much noise. Too much on our to-do lists. Too much in our inboxes.
I believe in slowing down. Doing less. Focusing on what really matters. And to be honest, I’ve been so ensconced in the noise that I couldn’t parse through my endless thoughts on countless topics to identify what of value I had to add.
Marketing rules push people to always be visible, always be producing content. I feel allergic to the concept of marketing and its socially constructed expectations, but what I do enjoy is writing and connecting with people. Historically, my writing has been an avenue for both expression and connection. First there was Rouge Muse (IYKYK), then Facebook posts and the STAR blog, and now this.
What will I be writing about? I’m still figuring it out, but you can bet on work, health, life, and relationships. The benefits of complaining. The liberatory potential of processes. Sweeping compliance mindsets into the dustbin of history. Stuff like that. Contrary to popular marketing advice, this will be a monthly affair, not weekly.
Want to opt in? Welcome! I’m accepting paid subscribers but wholly welcome those who will read for free. In this late-stage-capitalism-climate-change-systems-failure oversaturation of Patreons, GoFundMes and Substacks, it’s really too much.
Not interested, or just overloaded by the noise? No problem, you can opt out and I won’t take it personally.
This is Culture Work. We’re working on culture, disrupting chronic stress and making room for the good stuff. Thanks for being here.
